Cinder, the cyborg mechanic, returns in the second thrilling installment of the bestselling Lunar Chronicles. She's trying to break out of prison--even though if she succeeds, she'll be the Commonwealth's most wanted fugitive.
Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit's grandmother is missing. It turns out there are many things Scarlet doesn't know about her grandmother or the grave danger she has lived in her whole life. When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother's whereabouts, she is loath to trust this stranger, but is inexplicably drawn to him, and he to her. As Scarlet and Wolf unravel one mystery, they encounter another when they meet Cinder. Now, all of them must stay one step ahead of the vicious Lunar Queen Levana, who will do anything for the handsome Prince Kai to become her husband, her king, her prisoner.
This is my favorite book in the Cinder Chronicles! Scarlet, is a kickass protagonist, even though she’s just one of three protagonist, her story stands out the most. She’s not your average little red riding hood, she’s more like Katniss, from the Hunger Games. I mean, she carries a gun in her back pocket, a gun that her grandmother gave her! Sweet little sick granny, isn’t so sweet and sick in this book. However, she is kidnapped and very stubborn and will do anything to protect her family, regardless if her life is at stake, which is where Scarlet obviously gets her attitude from. That’s what I loved most about this book, although Cinder is still there and is still the great character she was in the first book, I loved Scarlet more! Scarlet, is just more willing to get what she wants, she wants her grandmother back and she doesn’t care if she doesn’t know Wolf, all she knows is, he knows where she is and he’s going to take her to her grandmother.
